THROWBACK THURSDAY!!!
Do you ever look at your camera roll and think “2500 pictures 😱”
But are too lazy to actually look at that many pictures and delete all the wonky, random, unwanted images. I’m guilty of it.
Well, I almost did that. Thankfully I started towards the top and was about to work my way down until I found this picture.
It was emailed to me by one of the attendees.. and I saved it ofcourse!
It’s me and Sam Villa at the Redken Symposium 2019 in Las Vegas!! Right before a haircutting class he was teaching. WOW!! What an awesome guy, he was so sweet, humble and he called me his friend. Such a small gesture and yet it was a moment I’ll always cherish and remember!
I met so many of the hairstylist I admire and was amazed how they were all so sweet, humble and willing to take the time to speak with us, and I was fan girling left and right when I met
There’s nothing better than finding out that such prestigious, talented, hair stylist known around the world are awesome people.
My biggest memory for sure what’s when I met .carruthers at the Sam Villa booth. He gave me a hug, and I squeezed him so tight, I didn’t want to let go 😂 He was so nice that he just stood there and waited for me to let go.
I was lucky enough have .hair with me and share this awesome weekend of fun and learning!! She also took a picture of me and Andrew....
Sadly, I lost my phone on check-in day like a noob 😱 so this is the only image I have left to look back on.... but I have the memories of that trip, both the good and the bad.
We’re all super bummed out that there won’t be a Redken Symposium 2021... hopefully 2022 will bring it back...
What can be more fun than being blonde??
❤️Being the one that’s doing the Blonding❤️
*** there is a wonky shadow going on from the lighting. The ends and roots looks a little darker, but they are even, you can see it in the video I took, how that shadow changes ***
I’m not a picture/video expert yet 😂 but I tried ***
Everyone knows that blondes are no walk in the park, especially a cool platinum blonde.
If you are asking yourself “Should I go blonde?”
Well...
Platinum blonde, or just ANY blonde is a high maintenance color. You need to commit to every 4-5 weeks for your retouch. Anything over a 1/2-3/4 inch of regrowth will cause banding and it becomes much harder to achieve an even blond. It will also save you from a color correction, and the price that comes with it.
If you can commit to regular maintenance, it’s such a beautiful color when done correctly and just adds a little sass to life 😂
Starting level : 4
Lightener : Big 9 + Magnum 8 hybrid mix with 20 vol
1 full scoop of My Hero collagen powder
Olaplex
I like to mix 1:1/ 1.5 depending on the consistency I’m looking for. I like it to be on the thicker side because control of product is so important in this process.
We all know over overlapping is like the KISS of DEATH for platinum blondes.
Apply to zone 1 only and process to level 9.5/10.
***DO NOT PULL THROUGH THE ENDS***
Even a “bleach bath” while rinsing can compromise the integrity on already fragile hair.
The alternative:
Doing a pre art treatment will help even out the porosity, clarify the hair and prepare a clean canvas for toning.
To tone I used 10VV,10P, and a tad 10T at maximum dilution with clear and olaplex Process for 15-20 min.
Rinse, apply Olaplex No.2 for 10 min, Pureology strength cure shampoo and conditioner.
Styling Products:
Pureology colour fanatic leave-in
treatment
Pureology Strength cure miracle filler
Olaplex No.7 Bonding oil (3 drops)
Blow dry and you’re done !!
This process is truly one I love to do, and brings me so much happiness. Stay beautiful everyone 😄
