A pink bottlenose dolphin was just seen in Louisiana waters near the Gulf, and it’s a sight you don’t forget.

Locals call her Pinky. She’s likely an albino, which can make the skin look bright pink.

People have watched this rare dolphin in the area for years. New clips from the river channels keep popping up, and sometimes there seems to be a smaller pink one nearby too.

Yes, river dolphins in South America can be pink, but this one is different. She’s a bottlenose dolphin, the kind we usually see in gray.

If you’re lucky enough to spot her, give space. Stay slow. Don’t chase. The best way to love a wild animal is to let it be wild.

Moments like this remind us how much wonder is still right off our shores.
