Who we are

Team 3476 strives to inspire students to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and to empower students to incorporate multidisciplinary skills learned through outreach, leadership, and business in their future endeavors.

FIRST, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring young people to excel in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through programs such as the FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST LEGO League. About FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition):

FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) is designed to provide a rigorous engineering challenge to high school students as well as teach leadership, collaboration, and project management at a professional level. Over 3,000 teams compete worldwide. Each team builds a robot to compete in a new game released in early January and ends with the World Championship in late April.

Our Mission:

Within the realm of FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), Team 3476 seeks:

To design and manufacture a world-class robot for competitions using engineering, teamwork, and design skills acquired through school and from industry educated and experienced mentors

To engage the local community by using the team’s skills and experiences to inspire young people towards FIRST and STEM

To inspire students from all backgrounds on all aspects through friendly competition, experience, and education

What we learn:

Through hard work and dedication, students gain hands-on experience in robotics, business, problem solving, and teamwork. Our team strives to empower students to gain self-confidence and become leaders, collaborators, and critical thinkers while fostering a culture of STEM celebration in our community. We encourage diverse talents and backgrounds in mechanical design, manufacturing, electrical engineering, programming, business, media, and management.

However, FIRST robotics isn't only about building robots and competing; it is about getting inspired and inspiring others. Code Orange recognizes the importance of sharing about FIRST and inspiring others to become interested in STEM subjects. We strive to impact the community by hosting and participating in dozens of community outreach events a year, from running summer camps to hosting FLL competitions to demonstrating our robot to starting robotics teams for younger kids (FIRST LEGO League for kids 9-14 years).
