When you double the chapter size, you quadruple the number of connections.

Years ago, I learned that there is a dramatic correlation between the size of a chapter and the number of referrals that are generated by that chapter. Groups that are under 20 members tend not to generate nearly as many referrals proportionately as groups that are over 20 members. The math actually proves it.

In Diagram A: 16 person chapter has 256 connections.
In Diagram B, 32 member chapter has 1024 connections.

Chapters that are twice the size tend to pass significantly more than three times the referrals. I could not figure out why this occurs until a mathematician showed this to me. He said it works because there are four times the number of connections to establish referrals in larger chapters.
