Be aware that this event has been postponed due to weather conditions, and will instead be held tomorrow, Sunday July 19th. The Long Island Chapter SAR will have a table at the event.

Because of the rain forecasted for Saturday, the 250th Anniversary Reenactment of HUNTINGTON INDEPENDENCE DAY will take place on SUNDAY, JULY 19.

We hope to see you there. The event is Noon to 5PM with the Declaration of Independence read at 1PM. You don’t want to miss it!

Bring water.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the Long Island Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution 🇺🇸

Today, Americans across our great Nation celebrate Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. As Compatriots, we proudly honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion of our Patriot ancestors whose determination secured the blessings of liberty that we continue to enjoy today.

We remember not only the soldiers who took up arms in the cause of independence, but also the countless women whose strength, service, sacrifice, and perseverance sustained the Revolutionary cause. Whether on the battlefield, in their homes, in military camps, or within their communities, these extraordinary men and women helped forge a new nation founded upon the enduring principles of liberty, self-government, and individual rights.

The freedoms we enjoy today were not inherited by chance—they were earned through the courage, conviction, and sacrifice of an extraordinary generation. Their legacy reminds us that liberty is both a precious gift and a solemn responsibility, entrusted to each generation to preserve.

As we celebrate America's 250th birthday, may we reflect upon the sacrifices of our Patriot ancestors, honor their enduring legacy, and renew our commitment to the ideals that have guided our Nation for two and a half centuries.
