Companion Flag Project

I was grateful for the opportunity to share our successes with the Seattle-Tashkent (Uzbekistan) Sister Cities Association this fall.

Imagine it, a world where entire generations from, say, age 6 to 10 on, simply take it for granted that in order to see any person or group of people completely and adequately ahead of our own intentional actions means to bring to present awareness, not just their salient human differences -- the stuff our ancient animal brains evolved to focus on first and foremost every time (without our conscious awareness or input) -- but one or more of their "human samenesses," as well? For example:

"This person wants to be accepted by others just as they are, and treated with honesty and respect."

"This person, like all people with normal mental health, is concerned for the safety and happiness of his, her, or their loved ones."

"This person, at the core of his, her, or their being, wants to feel safe and 'at home' in the world -- just as I do, and just as every person around the globe does."
