Today we celebrated a remarkable milestone—15 years of service with Longview's bookkeeper, Jean Taber.

Since joining Longview in 2011, Jean has been a dedicated, dependable, and valued member of our team. Her commitment, professionalism, and steadfast presence have contributed greatly to our organization over the years.

As Jean begins a new chapter, she will be sharing her skills and knowledge as an EMT while also continuing her work with Russells Alpacas. We are grateful for her many years of service and wish her continued success in all her future endeavors.

Congratulations, Jean, and thank you for 15 years of dedication to Longview! 🎉👏

The outdoors were buzzing with activity at Longview today as residents, community partners, and young learners came together to enjoy and enhance our beautiful campus.

This morning, we welcomed David Preister of the Cayuga Trails Club, who generously donated his time and expertise to help improve our Nature Trail. David mowed an area that is being transformed into a pollinator meadow with a gazebo, creating an inviting space for residents to enjoy nature while supporting local pollinators and wildlife.

David is also a member of our Nature Trail Advisory Group, which is working alongside Longview to enhance the trail system and create connections to the Ithaca College Natural Lands.

Just a short distance away, another outdoor learning experience was taking place in the Longview Community Garden. Longview is host to a Tompkins Community Action Head Start classroom, and the children recently enjoyed a special garden tour led by resident Andrea Rankin.

Andrea introduced the preschoolers to the sights, smells, and tastes of the garden, encouraging them to explore where food comes from and how it grows. The children had the opportunity to sample fresh garlic scapes and mint straight from the garden, turning the tour into a fun and memorable hands-on learning experience.
