Early spring is such a magical time! I shot this one minute video at our lower pond (which we affectionately call the Sea of Joy - get the song reference? 🙂), but the wonderful music of the spring peepers is coming from the upper pond (Peeper Pond) a short distance up the hill (turn your sound up high to hear it). Later in the spring season we usually hear peepers in this lower pond as well, and from other wet areas near the house, such as a small creek we call the Stream of Consciousness 🙂. If you or someone you know is visiting the Finger Lakes region this spring, summer, or fall, we would love to be your home away from home, and we recommend booking soon.

On Thurs 6/13, there's free live music on the Commons downtown, kicking off the CFCU Summer Concert Series; Front and Main is a really fun band. Also that day, free live music outdoors at South Hill Cider, a beautiful place to relax, in the countryside close to our place.
Fri 6/14, more great music at South Hill Cider (Scuba Jerry), the Deep Dive (Kabaka Pyramid), and other venues.
Sat 6/15, Southside Community Center is hosting a block party to celebrate Juneteenth, with food, various performances, and more. There's also live music happening at venues downtown.
Sun 6/16, South Hill Cider has a special event going on, their Fermentation Festival and Market, celebrating all things fermented, from foods to ciders.
That's just a sampling of events in our area that weekend! I'll put links in the comments, including a link to the Visit Ithaca events calendar, where you can find more events I didn't mention here.
Of course, this time of year is always great for visiting our beautiful area, going to the Farmers Market (open both Sat and Sun), and hiking, biking, etc. Buttermilk Falls State Park is just 10 minutes from us, and many other great parks and trails are also within 10-30 minutes. You won't regret a visit to the Ithaca area in mid-June!
