WRFI Community Radio

We had a great turnout for Patch Me Through Community on Friday afternoon. Our three WRFI DJs played more than five hours of music for downtown shoppers and visitors. Introducing new audiences to the wide range of eclectic and unexpected music you can hear anytime you turn into WRFI.

Dozens of new patches and buttons were added to hats, clothes, bags, and jackets representing lots of love for community radio and alternative fashion.

We still have some patches left over from the event, so if you couldn't make it yesterday but you would love one of these limited run items please reach out!

Thank you to the Seed Bomb for hosting the event, designing and curating the artwork, and for building such a sweet community space over the last few months. Also our gratitude to the Downtown Ithaca Alliance for supporting the event with a downtown activation grant!

Two more weeks until PATCH ME THROUGH COMMUNITY on Friday July 10 2-7pm on the Ithaca Commons.

Our friends at Seed Bomb are in the process of creating two unique new interpretations of WRFI's iconic flying fish - these patches (available in 2 sizes, and 2 WRFI designs) along with dozens of others locally designed radical patches will be available for purchase inside Seed Bomb during the event.

Sustainable Spinster - Zoë Van Nostrand will be teaching folks how to sew these patches onto your own personal items- while our amazing WRFI DJs spin music outside.
