All DMV offices across New York State closing for an upgrade this weekend All Department of Motor Vehicles offices across New York State will be closed for a long holiday weekend, including the Tompkins County DMV office on Ithaca's northside, for a systems upgrade DMV officials say will be "sort of like converting a narrow, dirt road into a smooth, multi-lane highway."

We are closing for a bit – starting FEB 13 at 2 PM - but it may please you to know all the changes we’re making behind the scenes will make future transactions FASTER and more secure FOR YOU, sort of like converting a narrow, dirt road into a smooth, multi-lane highway.
