Incoming! Watch as an Eastern Kingbird "mobs" (or harasses) Iris while she sits on the nest with her chick. In the avian world, mobbing is a territorial behavior in which smaller birds swoop and call aggressively toward larger birds or other potentially threatening animals.
Small birds typically do this to drive away potential threats from places such as food sources, nests, or offspring. Eastern Kingbirds are well known for aggressively defending their turf, and this individual quite likely has a nest nearby. Watch more LIVE at AllAboutBirds.org/Ospreys

Time to cool down and get a bite to eat! Watch as the Cornell hawk fledglings spend time on the roof of Emerson Hall on Cornell University campus. One sibling cools off in a puddle on the roof before dad Arthur arrives with food, prompting another young hawk to arrive. Even though the siblings have fledged, Arthur and Big Red will continue to feed them for several weeks as they transition to life out of the nest. Follow along at AllAboutBirds.org/CornellHawks
