I’ve always believed that how we dress is a form of art.

Not because we owe anyone a certain look, but because every choice we make is a small act of self-expression. The hat you reach for, the boots you’ve worn for years, the feather plume, the jewelry that reminds you of a place or a person, they all tell a story before you ever say a word.

I actually laughed when I put this trucker hat on because I immediately felt more like myself. It’s amazing how one accessory can shift your whole mood. It wasn’t about looking “better.” It was about looking more like me.

I’ve never been interested in chasing trends. I’d much rather build a style that reflects the life I actually live, horses, hunting, mountains, public lands, handmade pieces, and things with a story behind them. My favorite accessories aren’t valuable because they’re expensive. They’re valuable because they mean something.

That’s one of the reasons I love creating for Spruced Plume. Every feather carries a history, every piece is one of a kind, and every customer styles it differently. The same plume can look completely different depending on who’s wearing it, because personal style is part of the artwork too.

I hope you wear what makes you feel the most like yourself. I think that’s where the real beauty is.

There are moments when I have to stop and appreciate this incredible little community we’ve built together.

When I started Spruced Plume, I wasn’t just hoping to make beautiful pieces. I was hoping to find people who understood the mission behind them. People who believe in honoring the animals that feed us, whole animal utilization, craftsmanship, and creating something meaningful from what might otherwise go unused.

You have given me exactly that.

Thank you for showing up, for supporting a small business, for asking thoughtful questions, for sharing my work, and for creating a space where conversations about hunting, conservation, and the outdoors are met with curiosity and respect. It means more than you know.

As a small thank you, I’ll be releasing a new collection on Thursday, July 9, and I can’t wait to share these one-of-a-kind pieces with you. Every feather, every hide, and every design carries a story, and I’m so grateful you’ve chosen to be part of mine.

Thank you for making Spruced Plume what it is.

RAFFLE TIME

This hat band marks the end of a chapter.

It is the final band in this series, featuring sage grouse feathers—a native bird that I have very limited access to. What makes this piece especially meaningful is that every major element was sourced right here in Wyoming. The sage grouse and pheasant were hunted in Wyoming, the elk hide was harvested from an elk I hunted in Wyoming, and the deer hide capping the band was also hunted in Wyoming.

To close out the series, I used the last of these vintage sterling silver and turquoise conchos, making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece that can never be recreated exactly.

Raffle Details:
• $25 = 1 entry
• $100 = 5 entries

The raffle will run through July 1, and the winner will be announced that afternoon.

Please put “RAFFLE” in the notes along with how you would like me to contact you if you win.

Don’t have Venmo? Send me a DM and I can arrange payment through my website.

Thank you all for supporting small-batch, mission-driven work and helping me celebrate the close of this special collection.

Last night I hosted my very first magnetic plume workshop in my new workspace in Jackson, Wyoming, and I had such a wonderful time.

A huge thank you to Jennifer and Cathie for spending the evening creating with me. One of the things I loved most about keeping the group small was the opportunity to slow down, chat, share stories, and provide a more individualized experience throughout the workshop. It felt less like a class and more like an evening spent creating together.

The experience confirmed something I’ve been thinking about for a while: small-group workshops are something I would love to continue offering. Going forward, I will be opening up opportunities for private groups to book workshops on dates that work best for them, whether it’s a gathering of friends, family, coworkers, or a special occasion.

I also heard from many of you who wanted to attend but live out of state, were traveling, or simply couldn’t make the date work. Because of that enthusiasm, I am actively working on a virtual workshop option so that more people can participate, regardless of where they live.

I am excited to continue growing this side of Spruced Plume and creating opportunities for people to learn a new skill, spend time in community, and leave with something they made themselves. Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest so far. More to come soon.

A quick reminder that today is the last day to sign up for tomorrow’s Magnetic Plume Workshop!

Join me Wednesday, June 17, from 6–8 PM and learn how to create your very own magnetic plume using sustainably harvested feathers. Everything is provided- all you need to do is show up ready to create, socialize, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.

If you’ve been thinking about joining, this is your sign to grab your spot before registration closes.

In other news, I’ll be heading to Montana this weekend as a vendor at Old Salt Festival in Helmville. If you’re planning to spend the weekend celebrating good food, conservation, community, and western culture, be sure to stop by and say hello.

Looking forward to creating with some of you tomorrow and seeing others out at the festival.
