When I moved to Jackson in 2014, my biggest qualm was that there weren’t a lot of local spots. I yearned for a health-conscious neighborhood cafe where I could walk in- know the staff, enjoy the ambience, and hang out solo or with friends. I am grateful I got the opportunity to create a space like that; I think Life Up is unique and I hope everyone who ever came there felt welcomed, seen, and heard. You can read all the books you want, talk to tons of people who have walked the road before you, and be as organized as possible but nothing quite prepares you for starting your own business. Throw in a pandemic and it’s even crazier!! Five months after we opened Covid-19 put a damper on a lot of our plans but we persevered and continued to build a faithful customer base. I want you to know that Life Up will be closing but there will be another nutrition spot in its place soon so your patronage doesn’t have to end here. You are still welcome here!!  I will miss all of your smiling faces, hearing your creative tea orders, serving up shake bowls, watching you take selfies by the neon sign, and so much more!! Thank you to the customers and staff that made Life Up a special place for so many. You gave Life Up the LIFE and I am forever thankful. Stay tuned for what will be taking our place.
