Happy Fourth of July from our Mississippi Veterans Home in Jackson!

As we celebrate Independence Day and America 250, we honor the generations of Veterans who answered the call to protect the freedoms we celebrate today.

Those who chose to serve our nation and wear America's uniform came from every ethnicity, belief, and background. This diversity is the strength of our National fabric.

Each Veteran who chose to serve the calling of liberty, and the defense of our nation will ensure that this "The Great Experiment" known as the United States will continue to thrive.

Two hundred fifty years of liberty didn't happen by chance. It happened because Veterans from every corner of this country raised their hands, took the oath, and gave everything to make sure "We the People" would always mean all of us.

Today, and every day, Mississippi VA says "THANK YOU." America stands tall today because of the sacrifice borne by our Veterans. Your service is why America gets to celebrate 250 years of freedom — and it's why we'll be here for 250 more.

Serving America’s Heroes for America 250!!!

Recently, 8th graders from Starkville Academy volunteered for a summer project creating patriotic artwork for residents at our Mississippi Veterans Home in Kosciusko.

Their teacher, Sara Dingeldey, and Melanie Greene from Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) delivered the artwork to our Home, showing that our Veterans’ service is not forgotten. In fact, their stories are being shared with younger generations of Americans.

We thank the students of Starkville Academy and DAR for honoring America and its heroes!

Mississippi VA would like to thank Disabled American Veterans (DAV) - Hattiesburg Chapter for serving our residents at the Mississippi Veterans Home in Collins.

They sponsored a lunch from Strick's Bar-B-Q and also donated various clothing items to our residents.
