Yesterday's Leaders Luncheon was a hit! We talked about the Market Value Analysis and did a training on house meetings, an organizing tool that can build strength in your institution.

A huge thanks to our Muslim colleagues who served us lunch while they themselves were fasting during Ramadan.

Working Together Jackson stands with our neighbors at Beth Israel Congregation in the aftermath of the horrific, cowardly act on their community. Our prayers are with them during this time—for their safety, for the recovery of their community, and for their leaders as they discern next steps.

We are glad to learn that suspects have already been arrested, and are grateful for the prompt actions of the Jackson Fire Department, as well as city, state, and federal law enforcement.

Working Together Jackson condemns the act of arson, but we also must condemn the mentality behind the arson. Any act of terror against a faith community should be a cause of concern for us all, but even more so in a place with a history so charged as the one we have inherited.

Join us in praying for the congregation of Beth Israel and for our city. Let us all recommit ourselves to a shared future in Jackson as we pledge to protect each other across the lines of our faith. If that charged history has taught us anything, it is that in our diversity is our strength, and that all of us are stronger than any of us.

Please join Working Together Jackson’s End-of-the-Year Leaders Luncheon on Wednesday, December 3rd, from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at the newly built Hope Economic Empowerment Center, 5471 I-55 North, Jackson, MS 39206.

During this month’s meeting, we will focus on our work with the Market Value Analysis (MVA), a data-driven tool we are using to support our efforts to rebuild Jackson.

The MVA is a tool to help residents and policymakers identify and understand the elements of their local real estate markets. It is an objective, data-driven tool built on local administrative data and validated with local experts.
