Thank you to Erin Jostes, Transition Coordinator for Pearl Public School District for bringing special guest, II, to meet our interns!
Ronnie was the keynote speaker at the Pathways to Possibilities: Transition to Triumph Conference held in Jackson on December 4th.
Ronnie, a licensed clinical social worker, author, professional speaker, and disability advocate, shared his inspiring story of overcoming learning challenges. Each intern received a signed copy of his book “Nelson Beats the Odds.” His message of resilience, asking for help, and believing in yourself left a lasting impression on all of us!

Project SEARCH
The Project SEARCH Program is a unique, business-led, one-year employment preparation program that takes place entirely at the workplace. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through worksite rotations. The program culminates in individualized job development. The goal for each program participant is competitive employment. To reach that goal, the program provides real-life work experience combined with training in employability and independent-living skills to help young people with significant disabilities make successful transitions to productive adult life. The Project SEARCH program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center was created as a partnership between the Rankin County School District, The Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities, The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services and UMMC.
