Why businesses need ITDR (Identity Threat Detection & Response)

Most modern breaches don’t start with a firewall getting “hacked”—they start with a stolen identity. When an attacker gets into a user account, they move fast, blend in, and do real damage before anyone notices.

At PC Solutions, we’ve seen the impact firsthand: in the last year alone, we’ve helped customers identify and prevent nearly $150,000 in attempted fraudulent wire transfers—all stemming from email account compromises like this.

That’s where ITDR comes in—helping you detect and respond to identity-based attacks across your environment.

• Detect suspicious identity activity early (impossible travel, anomalous sign-ins, risky behavior)
• Catch persistence and privilege abuse before it becomes a full takeover
• Reduce alert fatigue with clear, actionable context instead of noisy logs
• Speed up response when every minute matters—contain and remediate faster
• Strengthen cyber resilience when MFA alone isn’t enough

If your business relies on Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, identities are your perimeter. ITDR helps you see the attack path sooner and stop it before it turns into downtime, data loss, or a major incident.

Windows 10, end of support is coming soon.

What does that really mean?

In simple terms it means that after October 14, 2025, machines running Windows 10 will no longer get security updates, technical support or new features.

Why should you care about this?

Windows stopping security updates means that they will stop releasing patches to address vulnerabilities that are discovered leaving devices open to cyber threats making it a great target for malware, viruses and other cyberattacks.

Doesn’t that only matter for businesses?

We are seeing more and more home users fall victim to cyber predators through no fault of their own. Targets come in all forms and home users are a population that generally has the least safeguards in place to protect them from these threats.

My device seems to work just fine as it is.

Microsoft will stop providing bug fixes, over time tat will lead to performance issues and instability. Microsoft support will no longer help with Windows 10 machines for troubleshooting help after the October 14th deadline.

New software and apps will also be geared to work best under the Windows 11 platform and may experience issues or not work at all. They will also not get new features or enhancements.

Are there any changes in Windows 11 that benefit me?

As we have been rolling out the upgrades, we have seen improvements in faster boot times, improved efficiency and a streamlined workflow. Microsoft has also added AI-powered features that benefit you with multitasking and faster task completion. It allows for greater PC’s performance through enhancements and ability to customize to your needs and workflow with the AI-driven Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

How do I do the upgrade?

If you haven’t been getting onscreen messages offering to upgrade your current computer to Windows 11, it may not be able to. This change in operating system is being handled by Microsoft differently than before. In the past they would allow the update even if your older device might not handle it well. This time if your device doesn’t meet their minimum requirements for processor speeds, RAM size, storage space, system firmware, TPM version, graphics card, and display capabilities it is not eligible for the upgrade.

You can use this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11 to see if your device is compatible. If it is not, upgrades to hardware might make it possible, or it might be time to replace that device.
