Started the day early. Beautiful flight. Clear to start with, but as we approached Iowa City we saw nothing but cover. Picked up a little rime ice on approach.
Cox on 1st solo.

A layer of clouds and smoke. Smoke so thick we had little forward visibility. Sky was full of the smoke for about 30 miles, and we were at 5500 ft.

Harvest moon coming in view over the horizon while flying Thursday night.

Left this morning before 5am. Landed just before sunrise. Now I get to sit in FBO for several hours.
What a day. Started at 4am. 6.hrs in air. Weather much worse than forecast. 2 missed approaches. Missed appointments.
Client may want to try again tomorrow. Bless him.
