Earlier today, SLG CEO & Executive Director Katherine Bussard testified in support of parental rights before the Michigan House Committee on Families and Veterans.

HB 5163, sponsored by Rep. Jennifer Wortz, protects the ability of parents to seek a second opinion and direct the medical care of their children without the undue weaponization of government. The bill strikes an important balance by maintaining protections against child neglect while empowering parents to make the best decisions for their children’s care and well-being.
