☁️ Every cloud overhead has a story to tell.
The sky is constantly changing, and each type of cloud offers clues about what’s happening in our atmosphere—and what weather could be on the way. From fluffy Cumulus clouds on sunny days to towering Cumulonimbus clouds that produce thunderstorms and lightning, the sky is always sending signals.
🌤️ Cirrus clouds float high above, formed entirely from tiny ice crystals.
🐟 Cirrocumulus clouds create the beautiful “mackerel sky” pattern that resembles fish scales.
🌈 Cirrostratus clouds can produce glowing halos around the Sun or Moon.
🌫️ Stratus clouds blanket the sky with a low, gray layer, often bringing misty conditions.
☁️ Stratocumulus clouds appear in broad, rolling patches, while Altostratus clouds often signal that rain may arrive later.
💡 One of the most fascinating things about clouds is that they can help you predict the weather long before opening a weather app. People have relied on reading the sky for thousands of years.
Next time you head outside, take a moment to look up. You could be watching a thunderstorm develop, spotting ice-crystal clouds nearly 10 kilometers above Earth, or seeing the first hints of tomorrow’s forecast.
What’s your favorite type of cloud? Have you ever witnessed a bright solar halo or a massive thunderstorm stretching across the horizon? Share your photos and experiences below! 📸☁️
