πππ NCQMA Championship Series Race #6 Recap πππ
What an incredible day for GBS Racing as Gage Sizemore brought home a clean sweep of the day with three feature wins and his first-ever Heavy Honda victory! πππ
π Heavy 160
We kicked off the day with the Heavy 160 heat race, where Gage started P4 and wasted no time getting to the front, taking the lead on the opening lap and pulling away for the heat race victory. πͺ
Our good friends at George Kincel Racing put together an impressive run of their own, charging from P5 to P1 in their heat race to earn enough passing points to secure the pole position for the A-Main, with Gage lining up alongside in P2.
When the green flag dropped, George jumped out front while Gage slipped back to fourth. But Gage quickly worked his way through traffic and back into second, setting up an exciting battle between two great friends and competitors. The pair ran nose-to-tail for most of the race, with Gage searching for a way around the leader.
On the final lap, Gage made his move entering the backstretch, cleared George, and completed a thrilling last-lap pass to take the checkered flag! ππ₯

π Heavy Honda
Heavy Honda was a challenge all day as we struggled to find the speed we were looking for.
Starting P4 in the heat race, Gage moved forward early before dropping back in the pack. A late-race charge brought him back into contention, and he crossed the line in P3.
For the A-Main, George Kincel started on the pole with William Shields alongside him, while Gage rolled off from P5.
At the drop of the green, George took the lead, William settled into second, Emma running third, and Gage moving into fourth. Gage quickly worked his way into second, but an intense crossover battle with Emma and William allowed George to build a sizeable advantage out front.
Once Gage finally cleared the battle, he began pulling away from the pack during a long green-flag run. George expertly worked through lap traffic and had every car except Gage a lap down.
Then, around lap 30, disaster struck. A competitor lost a chain and came to a stop exiting Turn 2. George made contact with the disabled car, damaging his front end and bringing out the caution. On the restart, George was unable to get back up to speed, forcing another caution and a trip to the pits for repairs.
That handed the lead to Gage.
With Easton Wedge charging hard behind him over the final laps, Gage stayed calm, hit his marks, and held on for an unexpected but hard-earned victory.

π First Heavy Honda Victory!
While we were fortunate to capitalize on the opportunity, our hearts go out to our friends at George Kincel Racing. They unquestionably had the car to beat all day and deserved a shot at the win. Sometimes racing gives, and sometimes it takes. Their bad luck happened to become our good fortune.

π Heavy World Formula
Heavy World Formula was set by a field draw, and Gage started P3.
It didn't take long for him to work his way to the front, and despite several cautions throughout the raceβincluding engine troubles for Easton WedgeβGage maintained control of the field and never relinquished the lead.
When the checkered flag flew, Gage stood atop the podium once again, with Daniel Bergen bringing home second.

Gage went 4 to 1 in Heavy 160, which puts us starting 2nd in the A Main outside of George Kincel Racing! This should be a great battle!
He went 4 to 3 in Heavy Honda, which puts him starting 5th in the A Main. Fingers crossed that our adjustments to the car get us fast enough to compete!
We will start 3rd in the Heavy World Formula.

πππ DIXIE SHOOTOUT SERIES ROUND 4 RECAP πππ
After an awesome beach vacation with friends in Daytona, it was time to get back to business and head over to Little New Smyrna Speedway to chase some Gatorhead trophies! π΄βοΈβ‘οΈπ
π₯ Heavy Honda
The day started with Gage rolling off P3 in the heat race. After battling for the lead early, we got shuffled back and finished P4, putting us P3 for the B-Main.
When it was time for the B-Main, Gage went to work! πͺ He battled for the lead and brought home the win, earning a transfer into the A-Main and a P7 starting spot.
After making some adjustments to the car, we found some serious speed. π Gage charged forward and worked his way all the way to P2 in the A-Main. He had an exciting battle with Molly Wheeler before getting caught up in a crossover battle with a lap car late in the race, allowing George Kincel to sneak back by for the final podium position. We would ultimately finish a strong P4. Congratulations George Kincel Racing on your podium... Definitely had the best car!
We're incredibly proud of Gage's progress in the Honda program. This is our first year back in a Honda, and it requires a completely different driving style than the other classes. Watching him continue to improve and become a legitimate contender every race has been awesome to see. π
π Heavy World Formula
Gage started from the pole in the heat race and led every lap to bring home the win, securing the pole position for the A-Main.
The A-Main wasn't easy. Gage lost the lead early and fell back to third, several car lengths behind the leaders. But he stayed patient, found his rhythm, and began charging forward. He made the pass for second and then reeled in the leader before taking control of the race.
Following several caution-filled restarts, Gage never flinched. He held off every challenge and brought home his first-ever Little New Smyrna Speedway A-Main victory and his first Gatorhead trophy! ππ
This class continues to show just how much Gage is growing as a driver, and we couldn't be prouder.
π Heavy 160
Gage started P2 in the heat race and wasted no time getting to the front, taking the lead early and driving away for another heat race victory.
That win put us P2 for the A-Main. On the initial start, Gage launched from the outside and took the lead entering Turn 3, but a caution brought the field back for a complete restart.
On the second attempt, the pole sitter got a much better launch, taking away the outside opportunity. Gage quickly adapted, dropped to the bottom, and made the pass for the lead. From there, he built a commanding advantage before several cautions allowed the competition to close back in.
Each restart brought new challengers, but Gage was up to the task. On the final long green-flag run, he pulled away once again for a dominant victory! π
Molly Wheeler kept us honest all race long and put up a great fight for the win. This was Gage's first-ever Dixie Shootout victory in Heavy 160 and one he was extremely proud to earn. π
π Unrestricted Animal
Starting from 3rd in the heat race, Gage made a move on the start and led every lap and secured the top starting position for the A-Main.
When the green flag dropped, he wasted no time taking command and led every lap on the way to another victory. Tyson King brought home second and had a very strong car all race long, making us work for every lap. Great race, Tyson! π
That victory secured our third Gatorhead trophy of the weekend! ππ
