This is how simple this is. I see so many folks get this wrong. But the advantage of 50's wiring is that you do not lose treble as you turn the volume down. Some love it (I certainly do!) And some hate it.

A little extension cabinet I built a month or so ago for my bench test speaker. The baffle is rough sawn cedar, and the cabinet is rough sawn pine, the grill cloth is burlap, and it's equipped with a little 10" Jensen 40 watt 8 ohm speaker. I wasn't expecting much out of it but man, this thing has amazing tonal qualities!!

A beautiful 65 Deluxe that I have the pleasure to maintain for a customer. It came in with some strange noises at idle. No matter how nice, or how new your tube amp is, they all require maintenance.

My nemesis, the Delta Blues! These are great little amps. But when you have to get into them for repairs the folded PC board connected by little jumper wires is the worse design on the planet! You have to unfold the boards to get to the solder joints, and every time you unfold the board you weaken the jumper wires, so you only get about one shot before you have to replace allllll of the jumper wires!

A beautiful USA tweed blues deluxe that took about ten years off of my life 😂 All the signal chasing, board cleaning, solder reflowing, and head scratching to find the source of a loud static and crackle finally paid off. Along with 2 drifting plate load resistors on the phase inverter.

Hard to beat a quad of EL84's!! Had to reflow the entire output board on this Classic 50.

One of the very last things you ever want to see when opening up an amplifier 😬 mice will chew and chew and make all kinds of work for you. Nice AC30 though!

I've been busy working on instruments lately, but I sure do miss working on amplifiers. You guys send me your amps to get them straightened out.
