Hi everyone,
Happy Holidays! Once again, my amazing marketing team made it possible for me to have a billboard running in Time Square throughout the day yesterday. Below are scenes from morning and evening at the billboard location.
Here is a link to the full billboard video as well. It is similar to the one that ran last summer, only it has been "decorated" for visitors during the holiday season. In the bottom picture, you can see there were quite a few 🙂

Hi everyone, My adventure continues! My marketing company arranged for me to have the pleasure to be invited back for a second interview on This Week in America with Ric Bratton. This time I was granted an hour to share more wisdom from the seashell kingdom. It was fun to relive some of the magic that happened working with my seashell partners :-) Sending Seashell Blessings to all!

Species Spotlight: Moon Snail — Back to the Bays 08/08/2025

This is a picture of a Moon Snail in its shell. Notice that the animal inflates its body by absorbing water. It is so out of proportion that it can't retreat into its shell until it expels all that water. Let's see what wisdom it has to share.

We have an expression "Misery loves company." That means we literally socialize around misery. We don't say love loves company, or joy loves company. We acquire attention through misery. When people receive compassion or comfort from their distress, they feel love. The problem is in order to stand out to gain the attention, the misery has to be worse than others. Have you ever heard someone say, "If you think that's bad, wait until you hear what happened to me." That is a Moon Snail statement,. If everyone broke their arm, this person would have to break both legs. The level of distress has to be blown out of proportion so that it is more than everyone else's. They are invested in making mountains out of molehills. They need the "mountain" in order to be noticed. I once had a friend tell me that to get me to spend time with her on the phone, she had to be wounded in some way. To my horror, she was right. Unwittingly, I had prioritized who most needed my attention by their level of physical illness or disasters.

Now for the wisdom of Moon Snail.
As I was teaching about this during a seminar, a student picked up the Moon Snail and said, "It's all your fault!" But Moon Snail doesn't judge what we inflate. If we equate attention with love, that is not a problem. It is the method we choose to achieve the attention. You could get attention through growing the light. If everyone gets a 90 on a test, get a 95. I decided to try an experiment with my friends. I began telling them about the amazing things that happened to others. As they processed the fact that I was paying attention to the great things in peoples' lives, I found there were more examples to share. Amazing things also occurred in my own life. But the real sign of success with this experiment was when I actually heard one friend say, "If you think that is great, wait until you hear this!" Who would like to apply Moon Snail wisdom and try this Growing The Light experiment? The world could use more light right now.
