Remembering Senior DeMolay Chase Maddox of Clayton Chapter.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office pauses to honor and remember Patrolman Chase Maddox, who made the ultimate sacrifice on February 9, 2018.

Patrolman Maddox was shot and killed while assisting two Henry County Sheriff’s Office deputies as they served a warrant at a residence on St. Francis Court. Deputies were attempting to arrest a subject for failure to appear in court on a traffic violation. When the subject refused to cooperate, assistance was requested from the Locust Grove Police Department.

Shortly after Patrolman Maddox arrived on scene, officers attempted to take the subject into custody. The subject opened fire, killing Patrolman Maddox and wounding both deputies before being shot and killed.

Patrolman Maddox served with the Locust Grove Police Department for five years. He is survived by his wife and two sons. His second son was born just four days after his death.

We extend our continued condolences to Patrolman Maddox’s family, the Locust Grove Police Department, and all who served alongside him. We will never forget his courage, service, and sacrifice. 🖤💙
