🍌❤️ More Than a Baseball Team ❤️🍌

Today was our annual Bananas end of the (baseball) year trip to Summer Waves and as I looked around, I couldn’t help but smile.

At one point, these boys were just teammates.

Today, they’re brothers.

They’ve spent countless hours together…. practices, tournaments, long weekends, tough losses, big wins, hotel stays and everything in between. Along the way, they’ve built friendships that will last far longer than any baseball season.

Seeing them laugh, race to the slides, splash in the water and just be kids reminded us what this is really all about.

Yes, we want to teach baseball.
Yes, we want to compete.
Yes, we want to win.

But more importantly, we’re trying to build young men who know how to be good teammates, good friends, and good people.

We were also able to celebrate a belated birthday for one of our own, Easton and we’re thankful we got to spend the day making memories with him🎂🎉

The rings will collect dust.
The records will eventually be forgotten.

But these friendships, these laughs and these memories? They’ll stay with them forever.

To our players, thank you for giving us everything you’ve got!
To our parents, thank you for trusting us with your boys!

This is what the Bananas are all about.

And we’re just getting started.

⚾️🍌 Some moments are bigger than baseball. 🍌⚾️

The Thompson family finally made the move from West Virginia to Jesup and while the rest of the Banana Boys have been busy with All Stars, Easton has been counting down the days until he could get back on a baseball field.

Today, that wait finally ended.

I reached out to my friend Klent with the Ducks to see if they had room for one more player and thankfully they welcomed Easton with open arms.

Easton represented the Bananas exactly the way we’d expect…. competing hard, getting on base in all but one at bat, playing the game the right way and then… BOOM 💥

His very first live-pitch home run.

Not a wall-scraper. Not a lucky bounce.

A no-doubt shot over the fence.

Seeing the smile on his face and the excitement from his family reminded me why we love this game so much. I’m glad they got it on video but I wish I had been there to see it in person!

We’re proud of you, Easton. Keep working, keep believing and keep swinging that bat.

Crazy part is, he’s an even better pitcher then he is batter!

Now let’s get all these Banana Boys back together on the field soon. 💪🏽🍌⚾️❤️

🍌🔥 DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR THE BANANAS! 🔥🍌

A huge congratulations to Tyler Groves and Dash Westberry for earning recognition as FPB GOAT Games Recipients this week💪⚾️

The Bananas team wasn’t in action but Ty was representing with the Long County 10u All Stars & Dash was representing with the Wayne County 10u - Black All Stars!

And if that wasn’t enough…

🏆 Dash Westberry has also cracked the FPB Georgia 10U YTD Elite Top 10% Rankings!

That list includes some of the best players from all across Georgia, and seeing Dash’s name among them is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and consistency he brings every time he steps on the field.

As for Tyler, anyone who has watched him play knows exactly why he’s being recognized. He competes hard, plays with confidence, and continues to get better every single weekend.

These individual honors are great, but what makes us the proudest is seeing these boys put in the work when nobody is watching and then seeing it pay off on the field.

Keep grinding, boys. The best is still ahead of you! 🍌💪

A huge congratulations to Rigdon McReady on winning his first golf tournament this weekend! 🏆

Competing in the GRPA District 2 Summer Golf Tournament, Rigdon shot an impressive 50 to claim the top spot in the 11U Boys Division and bring home the championship💪

Most people know Rigdon for what he does on the baseball field, but it’s awesome to see him finding success in another sport as well. Winning any tournament takes talent, focus, and hard work… and this young man put it all together when it mattered most.

We are incredibly proud of you, Rigdon! Keep working, keep competing, and keep making Wayne County and the Bananas family proud.

Baseball teaches a lot more than hitting and fielding. ⚾️💪🏽

These boys are learning how to work hard, stay committed, handle adversity, be good teammates, and chase goals both on and off the field. We want them to compete hard on the diamond, but we also want them to succeed in the classroom, respect others, and grow into strong young men with character.

Being a ballplayer is great… but being a good student, a good teammate, and a good person matters even more. 🍌⚾️

Proud of these boys for the effort they give at school, at practice, and in life. The lessons they’re learning now will take them much farther than baseball ever could.

Some are heading to 4th, some 5th and one heading to 6th but they are all succeeding 📚

Congratulations to these Bananas players for being selected for rec All Stars across THREE different counties. Way to represent, boys! Your travel team family is cheering you on all the way!💪🏻⚾️

⚾️ Adamson keeps stepping up and competing hard every chance he gets.

Bombs for Moms weekend was special for a lot more reasons than just baseball ⚾️💣❤️

The boys competed hard, made memories, and got to celebrate the amazing moms who sacrifice so much behind the scenes every single day. From practices and road trips to late nights and endless support, these boys are blessed with some incredible women in their corner.

Thank you to all of our Bananas moms for everything you do for this team and for your boys. We hope today made you feel as appreciated as you truly are.
