Thank you, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, for featuring me as “The Influencer” this month in St. Jude Inspire. I am humbled and honored and hope that my story can inspire others to realize that every contribution matters. My journey with St. Jude began with one blanket. Consistency, over time, is what leads to big change. For over 60 years, St. Jude has been consistently working towards Finding Cures and Saving Children. It is my privilege to partner with St. Jude, and together, we won’t stop. Because, as the great Danny Thomas said, “No child should die in the dawn of life.” No child anywhere in the world. Donations are vital to St. Jude, but so is awareness. So, if you can’t donate, that is ok, spread the word about the life saving work of St. Jude. There really is no place like it anywhere in the world.

Tennessee teen raises $100,000 for St. Jude, creates community portal for doing good Julia Gilmore may not have written the book on how to be a young fundraiser for St. Jude, but she wrote the website.

I’m honored to be in our Nation’s Capital to receive the Congressional Award Gold Medal, which is the highest honor for youths awarded by the United States Congress. Thank you to the United States House of Representatives, The Congressional Award Foundation, and the United States Senate for recognizing and holding value in those committed to service.

Thank you to Senator Marsha Blackburn, Senator Bill Hagerty, and Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger for spending time with me today and your support. I’m so proud to be an American.

Coach David Nutter has been an integral part of the Science Hill High School track and cross country program. He has helped countless students achieve their athletic goals and has instilled in them a sense of discipline, hard work, and dedication.

However, Coach Nutter was recently let go from his position as coach. This decision not only came without warning, and is unfair but also detrimental to the success of the cross country program.

It is clear that Coach Nutter's contributions to Science Hill High School extend far beyond just coaching cross country and track and field. His presence at the school positively impacts both student-athletes and non-athletes alike. He is known for being a mentor to many students who have struggled on and off the field. David Nutter has been a coach for 17 years and has grown the cross country program at SHHS from 9 students to a team of over 70 students. He has lead students to State. He is dedicated. He runs with the kids at practice. He is the reason many kids have the confidence to run. He is nothing short of amazing.

We urge the administration at and Science Hill High School to reconsider their decision to let go Coach David Nutter. The success of these students depends on having experienced and gifted coaches like him leading them towards greatness, both on and off the field.

This request is made on behalf of the athletes, parents, and community members of Johnson City, TN who love, support and need David Nutter to be the cross country coach at Science Hill High School.
