Recent heat waves in California have put a strain on the state's energy infrastructure, drawing attention to the state's efforts to expand its use of renewable energy.
Legislation in California is pushing for the state to transition to carbon-free electricity by 2045, and this requires that all electricity supplied at retail and by the state originate from renewable sources. As a result of new laws, more electric vehicles are being sold, and sales of gasoline-powered cars are being gradually phased out.
Some, like the state's oldest irrigation district, are getting inventive about how to get to California's renewable energy objectives without making the massive expenditures in clean energy infrastructure that will be required to do so. The purpose of irrigation districts is to control and administer the flow of water for beneficial purposes, such as irrigation and human consumption.

Monocrystalline
With the best efficiency ratings in the industry, monocrystalline solar panels are the best choice. In normal circumstances, these solar panels can convert more than 20% of the sun's rays into power, and the most efficient panels now reach 22% efficiency.
Mono panels generate more electricity per square foot when you have limited roof space. Many homeowners prefer mono solar panels' black photovoltaic cells than poly solar panels.
These panels are expensive, but they produce more power per panel.
Polycrystalline
Polycrystalline solar panels are less efficient than monocrystalline silicon panels, but cheaper. High efficiency is only important when you have limited room for solar panels on your roof. When space isn't an issue, you can add more polycrystalline panels to compensate for their lower efficiency. Lesser efficiency doesn't indicate lower quality when comparing solar panels.
Thin-Film
Thin-film panels aren't cell-divided like polycrystalline and monocrystalline panels. Their entire surface is photovoltaic. These flexible, lightweight panels use material layers instead of rigid cells.
Window and other vertical surfaces can use adhesive thin-film panels. RV solar panels also use these panels. Thin-film panels are less efficient than mono and poly panels, therefore you need a greater area to produce as much power.
