Great news for breastfeeding families in Arkansas! 🎉

A new law (HB1333) now requires health insurance companies to cover lactation consultant services—just like any other medical care! This means more moms can get expert breastfeeding support without worrying about the cost.

Lactation consultants (IBCLC) help with everything from latching difficulties and milk supply issues to pumping and weaning. This law ensures that families have better access to the care they need for a healthier start for both mom and baby.

If you’ve been holding off on seeking lactation support due to cost, this could be a game-changer! Check with your insurance provider to see what’s covered and reach out for help when you need it. 💜

🤍I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultan (IBCLC) because I wanted to bridge the gap in maternal and infant healthcare, ensuring that families (especially those facing challenges) receive the support they need to thrive in their breastfeeding journey. My background in nutrition fueled my passion for providing evidence-based care, and I saw firsthand how impactful lactation support can be in shaping a baby’s health and a mother’s confidence.

🤍 My proudest moments as an IBCLC are seeing parents gain confidence in feeding their babies and feeling empower. Seeing a preterm baby latch for the first time, helping a struggling mother overcome obstacles, or simply being the reassuring voice when she needs it most, those are the moments that remind me why I do this work.

🤍 You might not know this about IBCLCs, but we do so much more than help with latch issues! We assess infant oral function, guide parents through complex feeding challenges, support mothers in unique medical situations, and advocate for breastfeeding-friendly policies in healthcare settings.

🤍 IBCLCs are important because feeding an infant isn’t just about nutrition—it’s about connection, confidence, and long-term health. Breastfeeding has lifelong benefits for both mother and baby, and IBCLCs play a crucial role in making that journey successful, especially when challenges arise.

🤍 IBCLCsd are skilled, dedicated, and empowering.
