Discovery Island Learning Center

Road Trip to DILC:

Sisters, Minna and Maja were students at Discovery Island in 1995-97. Minna lives in Atlanta and Maja lives in New York. Together with their mother, they set out on a cross country road trip. Maja told Mr. Jay that Discovery Island was on the list of destinations they had to return to. On May 5 they arrived back in Jonesboro for the first time in 29 years. They found their old school and were astonished that Mr. Jay was there to greet them. The sisters shared some old memories and stories they remembered from their time on the Island. After a brief tour and a photo by the sign, they were on their way.

Over the past 32 years Discovery Island has been proud to be a part of lives of thousands of children and families. When Discovery Island opened in 1994 our goal has always been to make a positive difference in the life of a child. Thank you Jonesboro.
