I’ve always felt that if you’re going to have children, the greatest gift in life is watching them grow into beautiful, kind, and grateful human beings. I have the honor of saying I have four.

As the years go by, and we all grow older together, I see how life comes full circle. You give them life, you do your best as a mother, and somehow, through love and example, they truly get you. They grow into remarkable adults, shaped not just by what you say, but by how you live.

These past few days, I had the joy of celebrating my 58th birthday in the most meaningful way — with my son Jimmy at a festival, and with my daughter Sofia out on the ocean, riding a boat under the open sky. My two other boys weren’t physically with me, but they were absolutely part of my celebration in every way that matters.

Life hasn’t always been an easy ride, but the happiness of seeing my children become incredible human beings… that is everything. I say Happy Birthday to me, because I am still here & kicking.
