Job Description: Supply Chain Materials Facilitator
Reports to: General Manager, Thompson Precision

Profile: Assists in the purchase, planning and distribution of material and parts. Maintains logs, schedules and other related documentation. Creates, assembles and delivers customer quotes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Purchases materials and/or parts for production requirements in a cost-effective manner working to ensure all items meet date required.
• Regularly will use engineering drawings/blue prints to determine required materials, parts and required in or outside processing.
• Interfaces with customers and production to resolve any issues that may affect an order.
• Will generate quotes to vendors for material, tooling and/or coatings. Assist in scheduling parts through the shop.
• Keeps reports current on the state of materials due and any backlog.
• Tracks inventory, receiving and return to vendor materials with the current system to ensure costing of parts, labor, product and disposition of invoices for any parts/labor for the accounting group are matched and approved for payment.
• Will assist in shipping and receiving of parts.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings using math skills to determine required amounts of materials to purchase. Background and experience in supply chain process from order to production. Understands how material moves through the shop to become a part. Must have ability to communicate with external and internal customers. Must have excellent computer skills with proficient working knowledge of Excel. Job Boss ERP system knowledge is a plus. This position will assist in the costing of parts manufactured requiring some bookkeeping/accounting experience.
