STUFF - a store named STUFF
Our STUFF is made by ARTISTS, CREATORS, and MAKERS! A #curatedshop by #thestuffsisters. This store is a true retail gem. You will leave happy and inspired.
In this powerful speech from KCUR 89.3's fundraising event, Sloane and Casey Simmons—co-owners of Kansas City's beloved A STORE NAMED STUFF and known as The STUFF Sisters—share a deeply personal story about freedom, democracy, and the vital role of a free press.
S peaking to an audience of 1,200 supporters alongside NPR's President and CEO, the sisters reflect on a cherished childhood tradition: their mother's practice of reading excerpts from The United States Constitution and The Bill of Rights. This formative experience shaped their understanding of civic responsibility and the essential freedoms that underpin our democracy.
The STUFF Sisters connect these foundational American values to the critical importance of public radio and independent journalism in our communities today. Their heartfelt remarks remind us why supporting institutions like KCUR 89.3 matters—not just for Kansas City, but for the preservation of the free press that keeps our democracy strong.
