The gospel sets us free from a life spent chasing approval.

Paul’s words in Galatians 1:10 aren’t a call to become difficult, argumentative, or unconcerned with people. They’re a reminder that our deepest allegiance belongs to Christ.

So much of our lives can be shaped by the question:
What will they think?

Will they approve?
Will they understand?
Will they accept me?

But the gospel gives us a better question:
Am I being faithful to Jesus?

When our identity is rooted in Christ, we no longer have to perform for acceptance. Jesus has already secured that for us through His life, death, and resurrection. We don’t obey Him to earn His love—we obey because we’ve already received it.

That freedom changes everything. It gives us the courage to speak the truth with love, to stand firm when culture shifts, and to follow Christ even when it’s unpopular.

The goal isn’t to win people’s approval.
The goal isn’t to prove ourselves.
The goal is to faithfully follow the One who has already called us His own.

We celebrate PRs. We notice when someone shows up after a hard week. We encourage the person learning their first pull-up and push the athlete chasing a podium finish. We know each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals because we’ve spent time together.

What if the Church looked more like that?

What if we knew each other well enough to recognize spiritual growth that others might miss? What if we celebrated faithfulness as enthusiastically as we celebrate achievement? What if, instead of comparing ourselves to one another, we helped each other become more like Christ?

Real biblical community isn’t built on surface-level conversations. It’s built on knowing one another well enough to say, “I’ve seen how God is changing you.” It’s having the kind of relationship where encouragement is specific, accountability is welcomed, and correction is received as an act of love—not condemnation.

The goal isn’t to impress one another. It’s to help one another endure.

Imagine a community where we’re quick to celebrate obedience, eager to challenge one another toward holiness, and humble enough to receive that challenge ourselves. That’s the kind of community that helps us keep our eyes on Jesus.

“And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together… but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.” — Hebrews 10:24–25 (CSB)

Let’s become the kind of people who know each other deeply enough to encourage boldly, challenge lovingly, and celebrate every evidence of God’s work in one another.

“God is often more interested in your obedience than your outcome.”

Because the outcome was never yours to control—it belongs to God.

We spend so much of our lives chasing results.

A faster time.
A heavier lift.
A promotion.
A healed relationship.
A prayer answered exactly the way we hoped.

But throughout Scripture, God consistently calls His people to something deeper than success: faithfulness.

Noah built before it rained.
Abraham left before he knew where he was going.
Peter stepped out of the boat before he knew if the water would hold him.

Obedience has always required trust.

The world tells us our value is found in the outcome. God reminds us that our worship is revealed in our willingness to follow Him, even when we can’t see the finish line.

Our responsibility is to be faithful. The results, the timing, the victories, and even the setbacks are in His hands.

So show up today.
Open His Word.
Pray.
Love your neighbor.
Do the next right thing God has put in front of you.

And trust the God who is writing the story far better than you ever could.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 (CSB)
