Discipleship Is More Than Teaching, It's Modeling

A disciple is someone who helps another person move closer to Jesus. Effective discipleship is not just what we teach; it's what people observe in our lives.

Which is more difficult: teaching biblical truth or living biblical truth consistently? Why do you think God places such importance on our example? Think about a recent challenge in your life. What did others learn about Jesus by watching how you handled it? How can our reactions during trials become opportunities for discipleship?

When you faced hardship, did people see: Faith or fear?
Grace or bitterness? Hope or despair? Trust or anxiety?

The question is not whether your light is shining. The question is: What are people seeing when they look at it?

Pray this prayer... "Lord, help us represent You well. Make our lives a testimony of Your grace, truth, love, and power. Let our light shine in such a way that people see You and are drawn closer to Jesus. Amen."

People Are Watching More Than They Are Listening

Pastor Maurice shared the lesson his father taught him: "Regardless of where you go and who you're with, somebody is always watching you."

As disciples, our actions often speak louder than our words.

1. Why do you think people pay more attention to how Christians live than to what Christians say?
2. Have you ever learned something about God by watching another believer go through a difficult season?
3. What message about Jesus is your current lifestyle communicating to others?
4. If your coworkers, family members, or neighbors described your faith based only on your actions, what would they say?
