Everyone,
Thank you for your steadfast support. I am thankful and appreciative of the support our team received during and after the recent election. I also appreciated talking with many of you after the election and your encouragement of me to apply for the open city council position, number five.
I did apply.
I was appointed to serve the balance of the term (which is two years) last night at the Keizer City Council meeting.
I am committed to helping Keizer in addressing the ongoing challenges that impact our community on a daily basis. I look forward to working and collaborating with the Keizer City Councilors and community members to accomplish this commitment.
It is an honor to once again represent Keizer, all of Keizer. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our city.
Thank you for your continued support. Please reach out to me with any concerns you have and I will bring them forward to the council.
I want to announce that I am officially conceding the 2024 election for Keizer Mayor. I want to thank everyone who supported me during this election. With a total of 18,188 votes cast by the end of Thursday night, I feel I have waited until all votes have been accounted for. Unfortunately, we came up short by just 677 votes. While our efforts were not successful, my commitment to the residents of Keizer remains strong.
I contacted my opponent, Cathy Clark, this morning to congratulate her and wish her well during her two year term of office.
Again, thank you for your support and kindness shown towards me during this whole campaign cycle, it has meant the world to me.
Here’s an update… And unhappily we are not gaining on my opponent. We’re a little over 600 votes down with a 2600 under votes which means 2600 people in Keizer didn’t vote for either me or my opponent. And that’s too bad.
There are about 3000 votes left to be accounted for and we want to respect that. every vote is being counted before we make a decision to move forward.
So we plan on making that decision by Friday.
Thank you for your support and your patience, we’re trying to find the right balance between being respectful and making sure that every vote is counted before we make a decision to move forward with any statements. That will be Friday.
Thank you!
Still waiting for the final results of the election. I am down a few hundred votes and there are approximately 3,000-5,000 votes to count.
We should know the final results by next Tuesday.
So, here we are…
Marion County has posted 8150 votes.
In 2022 over 16,000 Keizer residents voted, in 2020, a presidential election, over 20,000 Keizer residents voted. So about half the results are in. I am behind approximately 200 votes of the 8150.
So we’re going to wait and see what happens. We called Marion County and they do not think they will have any additional numbers until Thursday so we’ll look forward to hearing from our Keizer voters then.
In the meantime, we’re picking up all of the campaign signs that are in Keizer. If we miss one, would you please let me know so I can run and pick it up and get our beautiful city back to being… Beautiful!
Thank you so much for your help, I appreciate it !
