At my 20 week anatomy scan the doctor told my husband and I we were having a health baby boy. 9 months and 8 days later our world changed forever.
💙❤️I had a 24 hour labor that ultimately resulted in a cesarean. Still the doctors told us William was 100% healthy , he just had an artificial murmur, that would resolve itself and is common in newborns.
💙❤️About 5 hours later , the L&D nurse took William in for routine monitoring in the nursery. While he was there , the nurse noticed his oxygen was low on room air. 
💙❤️ An echo was performed and he was diagnosed with Ebstein‘s anomaly a rare congenital( not linked to genetics are environmental factors) and life flighted to Seattle Children’s Hospital. Because of The cesarean I was unable to fly with William to Seattle
💙❤️Less then 12 hours after William was life flighted My OB hesitantly released me from the hospital. My father-in-law drove me straight to Seattle where I was reunited with William. (Picture below is the first time I held him after being admitted to Seattle Children’s Hospital) 
💙❤️ William spent 7 days in the CICU , during his stay he was also diagnosed with super ventricular tachycardi (SVT) and Wolf Parkinson white syndrome ( an irregularity in the electrical system of the heart) he was put on Propanolol a beta blocker and has continued some sort of medication ever since
💙❤️ William I promise I will advocate and tell your story until you can share your story yourself ! You have already begun to advocate and educate people about CHD and heart health and I could not be more proud of you❤️💙
