An 8-year-old typed one word into a search bar and found p*rnography. đź’” What started as childhood curiosity quickly turned into something far heavier.
🧠P*rnography can confuse kids, distort what they believe is normal, and deeply impact their mental and emotional well-being.
Thankfully, healing is possible. If your child has already been exposed, don’t panic and don’t shame them.

The best conversations about p*rnography don't always start with p*rnography.
They start years earlier.
In our Raising Safe & Confident Girls webinar, Kimberly King ( Tough Topics Mom) reminds parents to start young, teach children about their bodies in age-appropriate ways, and build from there.
Each conversation becomes another brick in the foundation. 🧱
When children grow up with accurate information and open communication, they're more likely to ask questions, recognize unhealthy messages, and reject harmful content like p*rnography when they encounter it.
Preparing kids before exposure happens isn't one big talk, it's hundreds of small, confident conversations over time. đź’™

P*rnography thrives in the dark.
As Kristen Jenson reminds us: when something stays hidden and unspoken, it holds the power. When we bring it into the light in calm, age-appropriate ways, we shift that power back to our kids.
We don’t have to wait for kids to encounter p*rnography alone in the dark, we can equip them in the light, with confidence and clarity.
If you’re not sure how to start that conversation, Good Pictures Bad Pictures is a powerful place to begin. 📖

Most parents think of these conversations as protection from a problem. đź’¬
But they're also preparation for a future.
When kids grow up with age-appropriate language around p*rnography, boundaries, and healthy relationships, they're better equipped to navigate conversations many adults still struggle to have.
The goal isn't just helping kids get through childhood.
It's helping them develop the confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills they'll carry into adulthood. đź’™
