Mezzo-soprano, McKayla Ferguson can be seen on stage as Clotilde Lombaste in the New Moon, Public Opinion in Orpheus in the Underworld, Peep Bo in The Mikado, and a chorus member of many other scenes in Kent State University’s production of Operetta: Land of Smiles, Pirates, and Pinafores. McKayla is pursuing a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance. She is currently under the vocal instruction of mezzo-soprano, Mrs. Sandra Ross. In addition to her involvement in the opera program, she is a part of the Kent State Chorale. McKayla’s most previous operatic stage appearance was the production of The Tender-Land by Aaron Copeland. Outside of her studies and performances, she is also a member of her church where she is an assistant pianist.
McKayla is delighted to be involved in this production. She would love to give the deepest thanks her family, friends, and voice teacher for their support and inspiration.
