Mickey aka Troy

The last five months of Mickey’s life were filled with vet visits, managing pain, arthritis in his joints and back, and the slow progression of losing his eyesight and hearing. Even through it all, he remained the fiery, feisty boy he had always been. His spirit never dimmed.

Loving him meant making the hardest decision, ensuring he would no longer suffer, even if it meant breaking our own hearts. He was just one month shy of his 13th birthday.

It’s still hard to look at his pictures. Part of me doesn’t want to accept that he’s no longer physically with us. But Mickey will always be my family. He is stitched into my heart and soul forever.
