This week is Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week, and it’s a reminder of the journey I’ve been on since being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease nearly 9 years ago ( my first hospital visit here )

Crohn’s isn’t just a “bathroom disease.” It’s waking up in pain, even on the good days. It’s missing out on moments that matter because your body says, “Not today.” It’s managing exhaustion so deep that rest doesn’t seem to touch it. It’s juggling medications, side effects, and a silent fear of when the next flare might hit.

But Crohn’s has also taught me strength I didn’t know I had. It’s shown me the importance of listening to my body, finding joy in small victories, and leaning on the love of those who stand by me on the hard days.

If you know someone with Crohn’s or colitis, please don’t overlook what they might be carrying. Ask questions. Offer kindness. Be patient. These illnesses are often invisible, but their impact is very real.

I share this not for sympathy, but to shed light on a fight so many face quietly. Together, we can spread awareness and hope for better treatments, more understanding, and one day, a cure. 💜
