Our Story
Foraged & Found was founded in 2017 by Jenn Brown, a former private chef who cooked onboard tourism yachts that traveled along the Alaskan Inside Passage. She was astounded by the bounty of Alaska from the moment she set foot in the state -- every bay and river teemed with fish & edible aquatic plants. Every forest had berries, veggies, & mushrooms bursting from the earth. She wanted to find a way to take these wild-grown foods and share the flavor and health benefits with those not lucky enough to live in Alaska. Along with some friends, she started to play around with the wild foraged foods that came from the land and sea of the place she made home: Ketchikan, Alaska. The groundswell of support from the community and retailers caused her to switch on her business brain and transform this hobby into a business. The result is Foraged & Found, a company dedicated to sustainably harvesting, processing, and selling delicious food products made from kelp, aquatic plants, wild berries, and more.
