Look around. There’s always something beyond what you see. 🌌

Find the tiny moon hiding beside those enormous rings. 🔭🧊

Neral-8 is a frozen moon that looks almost luminous, but its blue crust is brutally cold rather than welcoming. The enormous ringed planet overhead dominates the view, while a thin haze softens the distant ridges.

The surface sits at -187.4°C (-305°F), and gravity is just 0.21g, so a careless jump could send loose ice drifting farther than expected. Its surface pressure is only 0.06 kPa, leaving almost no protection from the environment. The heated sampling rig keeps its drill and joints above freezing while collecting ice sealed beneath the crust. 🧊

Drag right to inspect the rig’s amber drill light and the long blue shadows cut through the frost. Follow the fractured ridgeline left, then look up: the ringed giant stretches across the sky, its dark band tracing a curve above the horizon. Somewhere near the outer edge of that ring shadow, a tiny sister moon is easy to miss—zoom in before you decide you have found everything. 🛰️

Would you trust a small drilling rig to collect samples here, or would you keep the entire operation safely automated from orbit? 🧭

Hint: it's white, tall and thin, rising from the ice rather than falling from the sky. Bonus fact: this ice shell is over 5 km thicker than Mount Everest is tall. What would you name the first creature found below? 🐙

Fourteen kilometers below this drill, an ocean has never seen a single ray of light. 🌊

Ulvane-5d looks like a dead, frozen moon dusted in brown. But on every orbit its giant parent planet squeezes it like a stress ball, and that tidal flexing keeps a hidden sea liquid.

The surface holds at -63°C (-81°F), and gravity is only 0.09g, so a strong jump would carry you two stories high. That weak pull is why the rig is staked down with harpoon anchors. Its thermal drill melts through ice at full power, and without the anchors the escaping steam would shove the whole tower off the ground. ⚓

Zoom in on the drill head glowing cyan where it bites into the ice, then follow the anchor cables out to the cracked brown crust. Lift your eyes past the horizon to the ringed giant, its rings cutting across its face and casting a dark stripe over the clouds. One more thing is moving out there: scan the far horizon behind you. 🪐

How would you design a probe tough enough to ride this drill hole all the way down to the dark sea below? 🛠️
