We know you're eager to see your streets cleared, and we want to give you an update on our progress.

Our primary routes are open and passable, but not perfect. Crews are currently working on the secondary routes and will then go back to the primary routes for additional clearing. We're also using loaders to clear heavy snow accumulation at major intersections.

We expect to complete the primary and secondary routes by late this afternoon/early evening. Once these routes are finished, crews will move into residential districts.

Some streets have drifts up to 2 feet deep, which means plowing will be slow going. Additionally, the bitterly cold temperatures we're experiencing significantly limit the effectiveness of our chemical treatments, making snow and ice removal more challenging. Our crews continue working 12-hour shifts around the clock to get to every street as quickly and safely as possible.

We appreciate your patience. We know it's frustrating to wait, but please know that our teams are doing everything they can to clear Kettering's roads.

Also, thank you to Parks Service Worker, Jason Sullivan, who snapped a photo at shift change.

In a discovery that could change the future of medicine, scientists Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, and Shimon Sakaguchi have been awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Medicine for finding how our immune system knows when to fight... and when to stop. Their research revealed regulatory T cells (or “T-regs”)... special cells that act like the body’s peacekeepers, stopping our immune system from attacking healthy organs.

This breakthrough also unlocked the key gene FOXP3, which controls these cells. When this gene fails, the immune system turns on itself... leading to autoimmune diseases like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Type 1 diabetes. Now, new treatments could teach the immune system to calm down and protect rather than destroy.

Isn’t it amazing that the secret to healing so many diseases was inside us all along?
