I live in Key West and eat my way around the island, then tell you what's actually good. Happy hours, seafood, and the spots worth your time.

We know who really runs the show in Key West.

Our unofficial mascots and Key West ambassadors.

They are also handy although sometimes inconvenient alarm clocks.

Sometimes you just don't give a cluck!

The "Conch Farm" is on a busy corner downtown.

At the Conch Republic Seafood Company there's always activity and commotion with people going to and fro.

Stop by for lunch, happy hour, or a bite to eat and a cold drink when the mood strikes.

I enjoy ordering a plate of Royal Reds. A deeper water shrimp than Key West Pinks. A delicate flavor that finds balance somewhere between a scallop and lobster. You can order a half or full pound.

The reds are not on the menu so make sure and ask your server if they are available.

The flash fried conch is a lovely bite paired with the horseradish marmalade and a cold Heineken!

The smoked fish dip is another favorite of mine. Load it up with jalapenos and a few sesame crackers and I'm on my way to my happy place.

Went back to Four Marlins today for Happy Hour.

Daily from 3:30-5:30. At the end of Simonton Street tucked into the Reach Hotel and Resort.

Or walk in the back way like I do from next to Louie's and Dog Beach.
