KINO SANDALS

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Roberto F. Lopez of Key West on September 13th, 2024.
Robert was born on December 26th, 1956, in Havana, Cuba to parents Roberto “Kino” and Margot Lopez. Following his graduation from Key West High School in 1975, he began working in the family business, Kino Sandals, crafting unique footwear for locals and tourists visiting the island, where he later became Vice President and co-owner.
He was known for his attention to detail, having a keen eye and passion for gardening, art, architecture, and cuisine. He was also a great conversationalist, known by those close to him for his long format discussions. He is survived by his two sisters, Ana Lopez Sariego, Christina Lopez, one niece, six nephews, and three cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roberto and Margot Lopez, Grandmother Ana Casas Hernandez, Uncle Alberto Hernandez, and Aunt Rosalba Hernandez.
A funeral service will be held on September 23rd, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of St. Mary, 1010 Windsor Lane, Key West, FL 33040.
