Harbor Walk’s Dock Master

Dock Master Building / Harbor Walk

What is a Dock Master? Direct from Wikipedia Encyclopedia (though paraphrased by myself in human language): A fully qualified and experienced Master Mariner controlling shipping movement in and out of a busy dock. If several docks were within a single harbor then there too would be a Harbor Master overseeing all movements of the individual Dock Masters. In today’s lingo that’s called “Organized Crime”! :-) Some of the busiest Dock Masters in the world like London, England have as many as 360 staff members.

Located on the western part of town just 3 blocks north of Duval Street is what’s refered to as Harbor Walk. This is a pedestrian friendly shopping, dining & ocean watching hot spot for sure 2nd only to Mallory Square. You can find this at AB Marina in Key West on the south side of Harbor Walk beside the Conch Republic Seafood Company.
