🚨 Multinational Forces Disrupt Major Caribbean Drug Smuggling Operation! 🚨

Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-S) and the Colombian Navy (Armada de Colombia) detected a 20-foot Go-Fast vessel smuggling narcotics from Cordoba, Colombia, toward Colon, Panama. The suspects operated this boat in tandem with another Go-Fast.

JIATF-S immediately coordinated the response with Panama's National Aeronaval Service (Aeronaval Panamá). Aeronaval Panamá quickly launched a Maritime Patrol Aircraft, tracked the target, and vectored a surface interceptor to a location 50 nautical miles east of El Porvenir.

When Panamanian forces intercepted the vessel, they discovered 29 bales on board and seized 817 KG of co***ne. Panama also successfully interdicted the other accompanying vessel! 🚤🚁

JIATF-S leads regional detection and monitoring across a 42-million-square-mile area. We work daily with regional partner nations to stop illicit trafficking networks. Our joint efforts support U.S. Department of War-directed and U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM)-led operations to disrupt transnational criminal organization (TCO) networks in the Western Hemisphere.

🚨 SUCCESS ON THE HIGH SEAS! 🌊

Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-S) and our regional partners continue to relentlessly pursue and disrupt narco-trafficking in the Western Hemisphere.

In a recent combined operation, JIATF-S detected and tracked a Go-Fast vessel loaded with co***ne transiting the Western Caribbean from Colombia toward Panama. Coordinating seamlessly with a U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) Maritime Patrol Aircraft, we maintained eyes on the target and alerted Panamanian authorities.

Aeronaval Panamá immediately vectored a surface interceptor, closing in on the vessel 43 nautical miles north of Santa Isabel. During the pursuit, the smugglers attempted to flee with aggressive maneuvers, jettisoning their illicit cargo before their vessel began taking on water. Following effective warning shots by Panamanian forces, the Go-Fast was intercepted just before it sank.

The Results:
✅ 4 smugglers detained
✅ 783 Kg of co***ne recovered from the water

This operation is a prime example of applying total systemic friction against illicit cartels. Every day, across a 42 million square mile operating area, our detection and monitoring efforts support U.S. Department of War-directed and /U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM)-led operations. Together with multiple regional partner nations and the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition, we are dismantling narco-terrorist networks and protecting the homeland. 🇺🇸🤝🇵🇦

🌊 ANOTHER WIN FOR THE GOOD GUYS! 🌊

When JIATF-S and Mexico's Navy work together, drug smugglers don't stand a chance.

Here's how it went down: 🔍 Our teams spotted a suspicious Go-Fast boat speeding north from Manta, Ecuador 📡 Intelligence immediately shared with our Mexican partners 🚁 Mexican Maritime Patrol Aircraft scrambled for intercept ⚓ Armada de Mexico deployed helicopter with Marine Infantry aboard 🎯 Direct helicopter insertion onto the fleeing vessel - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

The Bottom Line: • 826 kg of co***ne off the streets • 5 traffickers in custody • Another trafficking network disrupted

From our 42-million-square-mile area of operations, JIATF-S works around the clock with partners like Mexico to detect, track, and stop the flow of illegal drugs before they reach our neighborhoods.
This is partnership in action. 🇺🇸🤝🇲🇽

Every successful operation like this one represents families protected, communities safer, and criminal organizations weakened.

Proud to support U.S. Department of War-directed and U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM)-led missions to dismantle narco-terrorist networks in the Western Hemisphere.
