As we come upon the 250th anniversary of The United States it has me thinking why I distill the way I do.
Standing atop "Bubba," one of the stills at Key West Legal Rum, I'm reminded every day that great rum isn't created by marketing—it is created by craftsmanship.
As the first legal rum distillery in Key West, we've spent more than a decade handcrafting rum one batch at a time. From our silver rum to our barrel-aged expressions and specialty releases, every spirit is distilled right here in Key West by the people whose names are on the bottles.
We're not chasing volume. We're chasing quality.
Every batch reflects the island we call home—the history, the people, the salty air, the creativity, and the independent spirit that have defined Key West for generations. We combine traditional distilling techniques, years of culinary and fermentation experience, and a constant drive to explore new flavors that can only come from a place as unique as Key West.
The still behind every bottle carries the nickname "Bubba," a Key West term of friendship and respect. That spirit of community guides everything we do.
We're not trying to be the biggest rum company in the world.
