Over the past few days, we celebrated something really special.

We toasted to 40 years at Vintners Dinner… and then shared cake with the community at Taste of Key West 🍰

(Three giant sheet cakes, to be exact.)

It was a moment to honor 40 years of impact—and to introduce what’s ahead.

Now, we move forward as Keys Health + Housing (formerly AH Monroe), feeling incredibly grateful for this community that has been with us every step of the way.

For 24 years, the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys has honored the quiet champions among us through its annual Unsung Heroes celebration — recognizing volunteers whose behind-the-scenes service strengthens our entire community.

This year, AH Monroe and Florida Keys Outreach Coalition were proud to nominate Raymond “Mr. Fitz” Fitzhenry.

For the past five years, Mr. Fitz has served as the full-time volunteer pantry manager at Loaves & Fish Food Pantry. Each month, more than 250 households rely on the pantry — and on Mr. Fitz’s steady presence. He keeps operations running smoothly, but more importantly, he greets every client with warmth, dignity, and a welcoming smile.

His commitment embodies the very spirit of community care that the Unsung Heroes recognition was created to celebrate.
