Monroe County BOCC - Florida Keys

Monroe County's Kimberly Kelley, Montillo “Scott” Desquotte, Robert Biers, Sean Martin, Daniel Perez, Francisco Palomares, JT Torner, and Erik Renner were alerted by an observant resident on Plantation Road of a sinkhole formed in the roadway. After meeting with the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority and the Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District, no water leaks or water lines were found in the location.

The crew shifted from regular operations to complete the repairs and ensure driver safety. They found a significant void under the roadway that could have given way, which was repaired quickly.
